Farewell Friday

I would like to dedicate my final post to my lovely Charmer Bonnie who crossed to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday.

The Woman took this picture a few months back right on our front porch. All three of us were out there with her and were enjoying the early Spring air and shower. The fresh sniffs of the wet ground and the daffodils poking their heads out of the ground. All of a sudden this amazing rainbow showed up right outside our window. (Even more amazing the Woman was able to capture it).

For a brief moment we all looked out the window and listened to the rain and stared at the beauty in front of our small corner of this planet. I know that so many of our friends are at the Bridge looking over us. I think this moment sums up my feelings on life- it is fleeting and beautiful but the memory never fades. I'll see you someday my Bonnie and while I never met you in life I'll know you immediately at the Bridge.

All of my Charmers are special to me (truly, you all have such amazing qualities) but Bonnie was one of the originals, in fact one of 2 who inspired me to start the Charmers. I will never forget her. Because of her my Woman discovered Celiac's Disease which was making her so unhealthy and miserable without knowing what was wrong. Bonnie's mom told her about it and for that we are all eternally grateful. Bonnie changed all of our lives.

Sadness

Today I lost a very special friend, the well adored Bonnie. One of my most devoted Charmers has crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. I am beyond sad about this loss. Everyone please purr for her safe crossing over to the Rainbow Bridge. We had so much in common and I admired her spunk and spirit. Sleep well sweetest princess.

Merry Man Cat Miracle Monday!

Just when I thought I wasn't going to get anything worthwhile after our Secret Paws this year a package arrived with my name on it first! And while it was for all of us, I know its really for me. It was from my Special Charmer Bonnie. She sent me some more of those great nip canes, mousies, temptations (my favorite flavor of course), jingle toys, an awesome thing with a long tail, and a cool custom stocking! Plus.....her picture. Ah....Bonnie....purr....

My Midnight Tabby Adventure

You won't hear from Kaze or Latte how they were able to open the toy closet and fish out the whirly-bird which they dragged upstairs. They would never admit to getting into so much trouble. So I'll tattle on them as their folly directly impacted my night.

The people went out for a walk and came home to the opened door. The Woman ran upstairs expecting to see the bird destroyed but it wasn't. She secured the closet door.

One little problem with that...I WAS INSIDE THAT CLOSET!!!!!

Later at night the Awesome Man came downstairs because he heard a noise. He also secured the closet and went back upstairs to bed.

HELLO???!!! I'M STILL INSIDE THIS CLOSET!!

....................................Nine Hours later................................

Kaze: "Latte, did you hear a BANG out of the toy closet?
Latte: "Um, I'm not sure, let me get Meowmy to open it for us."

Yup, its me! Locked in the toy closet all night long. As you can tell I was actually quite comfy. I had my purr pad from Bonnie, that scarf thing (aka the green monster, used as a Halloween costume), and ALL OF OUR NIP!!!! Seriously, ALL OF OUR NIP STASH. I did check out all of the toys but after dumping them all out I found nothing really entertaining.

The only reason I had a lovely night was because I found my nip banana and passed out after about three hours of constantly licking. Honestly, the night is really a blur but I woke up feeling might refreshed!! After this I waltzed out like nothing happened. Of course I was a bit in need of the litter box and then some food.

I must also add that if not for the Woman who knows when I would have been found. She does a head count and she asked the Awesome Man how long it had been since he'd seen me and he said, "A while.".

Haha!

Look what I've got! It is Kaze's precious rainbow toy. I took it from her and now I'm playing with it and she can't do anything about it. Ah....its good to be the Big Man Cat of the house. All she can do is sit there and watch me. She thinks she's so smart when she attacks me from behind and pins me down. Well look who has her toy now.

In other very very important news today is the birthday of one of my lovely Charmers: Bonnie! She looks just as young as a kitten if you ask me. Happy Birthday beautiful Bonnie!! I'll be over to celebrate with you all day long. Bonnie is a special lady as she is one of the founding Charmers. She has a very special place in my heart.

How to terrfiy humans

I like to share my many years of experience freaking out humans. I've had a lot of practice especially with the Woman. The other morning I was sleeping with my eyes open and taking slow shallow breaths so I looked something like this:

It was early and the Woman had just gotten out of bed to do her cat head count which she does every morning. There I was sleeping peacefully when she saw me and stopped dead in her tracks. She held her breath and stared really closely at me. I tried to hold my breath to really freak her out. Just when it looked like she was going to poke me.....I winked at her. Haha!!!! It was hilarious! She went and yelled at the Awesome Man that "his cat" was trying to give her a heart attack.

Ahh....I forgot how fun it is to freak her out. So this morning, I decided to sleep in the bathroom sink. I haven't done that for a while but its great to see her jump when she discovers me!

In answer to the SAT questions: Normally she wouldn't share her score from the SAT but she feels that everyone should know how subjective and pointless that test is. She got a 1040 the time Jasmine peed on her. She took the exam a second time and got a 1070. Those are not great scores. She graduated in the top 10% of her high school class and she was Phi Beta Kappa from college graduating from both high school and college with over a 3.7 GPA. Obviously she's not a dummy (though she is always saying she is so I don't know why we can't believe her) so that test really isn't indicative of intelligence (again, I think it is- she's pretty dumb).

Gifts!

My very special Charmer Bonnie (and her brother Victor) held a contest for their 20,000th visitor and it was me! Victor did a great job of testing the packaging (thanks dude) and they sent me the bestest stuff!

I got a nip pad, with primo nip! Sadly, Latte has been running around with it over his head and back acting like we can't see him. Sigh... I got this great nip filled tube that I licked and licked and licked until it was soggy. They sent me 3 shmousies and of course Latte stole the black one and lost it in 30 seconds. The Awesome Man yelled at him for that because its lodged under the couch now. Bonnie also sent a little package of Wellness food which we've been meaning to try for a while. Bonnie also made me this beautiful card! Thanks guys, it was wonderful of you and you picked out the best things that I truly love. Yes, the others like them too of course.
